Where is my information stored?

On your phone. MedRecall+ has no account and no server, so we cannot see your information. That also means we cannot recover it for you if it is lost.

How do I back up my information?

In the app's Settings you can choose to back up to your own Google Drive or OneDrive. Information is copied there only when a backup runs.

What if I lose or break my phone?

Anything stored only on your phone is lost with it. A backup in your own Google Drive or OneDrive gives you a copy to recover from. Voice recordings and transcripts are saved as separate files in the location you choose (your phone, Google Drive, OneDrive, or a combination), so save them to Google Drive or OneDrive if you want a safety copy.

How do I delete my information?

You can delete individual records in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes the information stored on your phone. Copies already saved in your own Google Drive or OneDrive are not removed by the app, so delete them in that account if you want them gone.

How does importing from my health system work?

If your health system uses Epic, you can sign in to your patient portal from the app and choose what to download. The categories are allergies, demographics, health issues, immunizations, medications, results, and vital signs. You can uncheck any of them. MedRecall+ does not download visit notes from Epic. What you download is stored on your phone.

Recording a doctor visit

Recording laws vary by location. Some jurisdictions require all parties to agree before a conversation can be captured. Please ensure you have the consent of all participants before recording.

Is MedRecall+ medical advice?

No. MedRecall+ is an organizational tool. It does not give medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For questions about your health, talk to a qualified healthcare provider. In an emergency, call 911.
